New RC8T4 Gearbox Upgrade!

The 1:8 truck class is the toughest discipline in RC racing. The Area 51 team from Associated Electrics has developed a new gearbox upgrade to maximize the durability of the RC8T4 drivetrain.

The new 40/9 ring and pinion gears have been completely redesigned with massive, reinforced teeth that provide better meshing and prevent tooth skipping. Additionally, the front and rear RC8B4 gearbox housings have been improved, using high-strength polymer materials to ensure the most precise screw and bearing fit.

Team Associated factory driver Spencer Rivkin used the new parts to win the 2024 ROAR Electric Truck National Title with his RC8T4e. Thanks to the new gearbox upgrade, he no longer had to worry about gearbox durability while pushing his truck on U.S. racetracks.

Innovative front axle geometry combining 8° caster steering blocks with new, wider upper arms for a more balanced steering feel and predictable handling in all conditions

New rear chassis brace with a central mount on the gearbox housing for reduced material fatigue, centralized shear forces, and improved rear drivetrain longevity; three chassis flex settings available
New side-symmetrical rear hub carriers with axle inserts for roll center adjustment
High-capacity fuel tank with an ergonomic lid, easy-to-read fill level marks, and 1-, 2-, and 3-cm³ inserts for volume adjustment at official races
New front and rear gearbox housings with larger ball bearings extend the lifespan of the ring and pinion gears. The front gearbox has a 3.5° angled pinion gear for a straight-line center driveshaft path, improving drivetrain efficiency and reducing phase shift and vibration. The rear gearbox features a 0° pinion angle with a centrally mounted chassis brace connection
